PERIOD.ORG: TOEPONS
On Menstrual Hygiene Day, we introduced fake menstrual products, exposing a very real period problem: Some menstruators are forced to use everyday items when they can’t afford menstrual products.
To bring attention to the issue, we created fake menstrual product social ads for socks, newspapers, and napkins (actual items used as menstrual product substitutes). The ads highlighted the costs and the health and emotional toll of using these substitutes. Then, we asked people to donate to PERIOD because everyone who menstruates should have access to safe and hygienic period products. Period.
